About the Designer
Anita is a 19 year old college student currently attending Pace University in New York City. She was born in Brooklyn and attended LaGuardia High School for Arts and Performing Arts where she was an Art major. Anita always had a passion for the arts whether it was performing on stage, drawing, or even graphic design. She currently is an Art History major, her favorite artists include Jamel Shabazz, Jean Micheal Basquiat, Swoon, Kara Walker and Carrie Mae Weems. She hopes to be a curator or a museum educator. Anita also has a passion for fashion and music, she is currently the Hip Hop Music director at Pace University Broadcasting as well as interning at the #1 Hip Hop radio station in New York, WQHT, Hot 97 FM.
About Butterbuddy
Butterbuddy was started in June 2007, by Anita. Each bangle is made from wood, and hand painted and designed. The name Butterbuddy comes from Anita's tendency to call her friends, buddy or butter...she is indeed a unique indiviual. With time, hopefully Butterbuddy will expand into earrings, necklaces and more.
